Baseball Recap: Blacksher Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Blacksher took a 17-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bayshore Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blacksher Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bayshore Christian Eagles 7-6. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 17-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Brody Watson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Jamison Coleman was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Brayden Bailey was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Blacksher's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.67 hits in those games compared to only 5.1 in the others. As for Bayshore Christian, they moved to 5-11 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Blacksher will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bayshore Christian: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
