Baseball Recap: Mt. Blue Comes Up Short

Mt. Blue suffered their closest loss since May 28, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Edward Little Red Eddies by a score of 10-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 11-10 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Nolan Leso made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Gage Decarolis, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Mt. Blue's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Edward Little, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Mt. Blue has already played their next matchup, a 4-0 win against Brewer on the 16th. As for Edward Little, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-1 defeat against Cony on the 16th.
