Softball Recap: John Paul II Catholic Takes a Loss

If John Paul II Catholic was riding high fresh off their 15-2 takedown of Arendell Parrott Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saints came up short against the Martin County Gators on Monday, falling 12-5. The Saints were not able to make up for their loss to the Gators from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Cara Edwards was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

John Paul II Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7-1. As for Martin County, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.

John Paul II Catholic has already played their next game, a 13-3 loss against Grace Christian on the 15th. As for Martin County, they will host Hobgood Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
