Basketball Game Preview: Garces Memorial Rams vs. Taft Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Garces Memorial Rams will jump right back in to play the Taft Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Garces Memorial saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 66-47 bruising from Bakersfield. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 702nd, while the Drillers are ranked 88th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Taft challenged Porterville on Friday. Taft took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Porterville. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Garces Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Taft, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Garces Memorial against Taft in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, as the squad secured a 75-40 win. Does Garces Memorial have another victory up their sleeve, or will Taft turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
