Madison-Ridgeland Academy had won six straight home games and Erick Dampier, Jr. did his part to make it seven on Tuesday. The Patriots narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the St. Thomas More Cougars 58-56 with plenty of help from Dampier, Jr., who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 19 boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 25 games he's played dating back to last season.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-48 win against Oxford on the 28th. As for St. Thomas More, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on New Iberia at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th.
