Softball Preview: Speedway Sparkplugs vs. Lawrence Central Bears
The Speedway Sparkplugs will take on the Lawrence Central Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
After dropping their season opener at home, Lawrence Central is headed out to face a Sparkplugs team ready to give their home crowd a win. Speedway lost 13-6 to Indianapolis Bishop Chatard on Tuesday. Sparkplugs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Trojans since on Tuesday.
Laney Jarrett made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Mallory Short was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
