Softball Recap: Wasco Falls Short of Liberty in the Playoffs

Wasco and Liberty squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Wasco had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since March 26th.

Emma Gomez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Wasco's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9-1. As for Liberty, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

Wasco does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty, they will face off against Pioneer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 3.3, the Panthers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
