Basketball Recap: Salome Piles Up the Points Against Antelope

Salome won the last time they faced Antelope and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Salome Frogs blew past the Antelope Rams, posting a 56-8 victory. The Frogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 31 points or more this season.

Leading Salome to victory were Brianna Thomas and Grecia Leon. Thomas dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards, while Leon went 7 for 12 on her way to 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Thomas has become a key player for Salome: the team is 13-6 when she posts at least eight boards, but 0-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Myranda Cruz, who posted nine points and five steals.

The win made it two in a row for Salome and bumps their season record up to 13-9. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.5 points. As for Antelope, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Looking ahead, Salome is taking a road trip to take on Maryvale Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Antelope does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
