St. Joseph won the last time they faced Mission College Prep and things went their way on Friday too. The Knights breezed past the Royals to the tune of 40-0. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Royals are ranked 580th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Joseph's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grayson Gaines, who rushed for 137 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries. Gaines is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season. Another passer making a difference was Jack Heaslet, who threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes.

St. Joseph's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.3 points on average over those games. As for Mission College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, St. Joseph will take on Paso Robles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Bearcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mission College Prep, they will square off against Caruthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Royals are facing the Blue Raiders at the right time seeing as the Blue Raiders are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
