Riverside had lost four straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-6 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They took down the South Charleston Black Eagles 31-14. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Among those leading the charge was Tavion Woods, who threw for 115 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 50 yards.

Riverside didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited South Charleston to a completion percentage of just 31.2%. The Warriors weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 45%.

As for South Charleston, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. They gained 51 more yards on the day, but it was Riverside that made the best use of them.

When it comes to explaining why South Charleston lost, don't look at Malcolm Brown. Despite the final result, he rushed for 133 yards and one touchdown.

Riverside will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Winfield at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. The Warriors' defense better be ready for this one: the Generals have averaged an impressive 36.9 points per game this season. As for South Charleston, they have already played their next contest, a 41-8 loss against Oak Hill on the 24th.
