Softball Recap: Orange Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Orange's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Person Rockets a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Panthers have won four games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Malynne Roemmich tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Orange let Katie Carden and Allie Carden run wild. Katie went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Allie went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Sadie Cecil was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Orange has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. Person's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Orange will challenge rival Southern Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Person is set to take on their familiar foe Eastern Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
