Basketball Recap: Northwest Falcons vs. Navajo Pine Warriors

Even though the Northwest Falcons have not done well against the Navajo Pine Warriors recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Northwest narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Warriors 42-39. That's two games straight that Northwest has won by exactly three points.

Despite the loss, Navajo Pine had strong showings from Mikayla Baker, who scored 16 points along with six steals, and Riley Dawes, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baker has scored all season.

The win makes it two in a row for Northwest and bumps their season record up to 4-14. As for Navajo Pine, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest will take on the Dine Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Navajo Pine, they will be playing at home against the Lynx at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rehoboth Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
