Meanwhile, Heritage Academy waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Bulldogs. That's two games straight that the Heroes have won by exactly three runs.
Haven Anderson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Anderson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Carson Grover was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Heritage Academy is 5-1 when Grover posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of David Mota, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Heritage Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Heritage Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
Both Trinity Christian and Heritage Academy just can't seem to miss. The Warriors have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Heritage Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits.
