Football Recap: Shamokin Area Indians vs. Shikellamy Braves

It's playoff time, and Shamokin Area had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Shikellamy Braves 37-7 on Friday. Considering the Indians have won nine matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Noah Ringes and Zakem Clinton. Ringes rushed for 141 yards and two TDs while Clinton rushed for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries. Ringes got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 88 yards.

Shamokin Area was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 424 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Shamokin Area didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Xavier Paul and Colin Steinhart.

Despite the loss, Shikellamy still got an impressive performance from Thomas Pollock, who picked up 215 receiving yards and one score. With that strong performance, Pollock is now averaging an impressive 101.9 receiving yards per game. Brody Rebuck also helped out by tossing the rock for 279 yards.
