Basketball Recap: Horizon Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Catlin Gabel last Friday, Horizon Christian came back down to earth. The Horizon Christian Hawks had to suffer through a 50-16 loss at the hands of the Valley Catholic Valiants. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Valiants are ranked 91st).

Horizon Christian dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Valley Catholic, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Horizon Christian will venture away from home to square off against Portland Adventist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Valley Catholic, they will challenge Westside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westside Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Valley Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
