Softball Preview: San Jose Bulldogs vs. Mt. Pleasant Cardinals        
        
		
            San Jose hasn't had much luck against Mt. Pleasant recently, but that could start to change  on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to  face off against the Cardinals  at 4:00  p.m. One thing working in San Jose's favor is that they have posted at least ten  runs  in their last four matches.
San Jose hadn't beaten James Lick on the road since April 12, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them  on Friday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Comets with a sharp  17-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine games by ten  runs or more  so far this season.

 Juliana Castellanos-Patricio was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  triple. Castellanos-Patricio is  crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: she's   snagged at least two every time she's  taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was  Brenda Hernandez, who  went 2-for-3 with two  triples, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 San Jose was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .667. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant scored first but ultimately less than Independence in their  contest on Friday. They took  a  12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the 76ers. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Leah Gonzales was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double.
 San Jose is  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 18.1 runs over those games. As for Mt. Pleasant, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
 San Jose took their  victory against Mt. Pleasant  when the teams last played  back in April by a conclusive  21-11 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
