St. Joseph Academy took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They skirted past the Clay Blue Devils 27-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Flashes have posted since December 12, 2024.

Leading St. Joseph Academy to victory were Isabelle Williams and Lola Scardelli. Williams posted nine points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Scardelli put up nine points and four steals.

Despite the defeat, Clay saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alia Chmura scored six points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Academy is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Hope Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clay, they will face off against Duval Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
