Volleyball Recap: Southeast Guilford Wins Going Away Against Trinity

Southeast Guilford lost to Trinity back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

While Southeast Guilford might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Trinity scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 26-24, 25-23.

Trinity's loss came despite strong showings from Avalynn Johnson and Charlee Phillips. Johnson had 20 assists, while Phillips had nine digs and three assists. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 27 games she's played dating back to last season.

Southeast Guilford's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Southeast Guilford will head out on the road to square off against Ragsdale at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Leadership Academy on the 13th.
