Soccer Game Preview: Yorkville vs. Plainfield South

The Yorkville Foxes will take on the Plainfield South Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Yorkville turned things around against Oswego East on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Wolves. The win was all the more spectacular given Yorkville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Oswego East are ranked 87th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Plainfield South, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Romeoville by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Rachel Brayton and Maya Phommachanhom scored all three of Plainfield South's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Plainfield South has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9-1 record this season. As for Yorkville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9-1.
