Softball Game Preview: West Brook Bruins vs. Barbers Hill Eagles

The West Brook Bruins will take on the Barbers Hill Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

West Brook will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Port Arthur Memorial on Friday. West Brook was the clear victor by a 16-1 margin over Port Arthur Memorial.

Calleigh Burton (2027) was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Madelynn Salvaggio (2025) was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

West Brook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Barbers Hill entered their tilt with Nederland on Friday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 5-0. The Eagles' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

Barbers Hill pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Brook, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season.
