Preview: Vanguard College Prep vs. Concordia
After having trouble last week, things aren't likely to get any easier for Concordia (2-8). This Friday at 7:30 PM, it is pitted against Vanguard College Prep (6-2). Concordia is limping into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Concordia received a tough blow last week as it fell 79 - 59 to Round Rock Christian Academy. Concordia fell despite improving upon an already solid 29-point performance the game before.
As for Vanguard College Prep, it has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling five) after its most recent game. It picked up a decisive 'W' against Hill Country Christian School of Austin last week, finishing up at 68 - 22. With five TDs, senior Kaden Herbert was a significant factor in the success. This sound performance was nothing new for Herbert, who has been a rock for Vanguard College Prep in the past three games. Junior Elijah Wade banked an additional two TDs for the team.
The last time they met, Vanguard College Prep was the decided 73 - 16 victor. Concordia was already in too deep by the half, where the score was 73 - 16. Can Vanguard College Prep repeat its success? We'll find out this Friday.
