The matchup between Prospect and Palatine on Friday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Knights were the clear victors by a 16-9 margin over the Pirates. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Peyton Mulligan looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ken Munao was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Louie Caldrone also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

Prospect has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Palatine, they moved to 21-9 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coming up, Prospect will be playing in front of their home fans against Schaumburg at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Palatine, they will challenge Hersey at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
