Football Recap: Parke Heritage Sets Scoring Season-High Against North Vermillion

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parke Heritage). They put the hurt on the North Vermillion Falcons with a sharp 46-20 victory on Friday. The Wolves' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Parke Heritage found their leader in sophomore Sawyer Monik, who threw for 105 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punched in two rushing scores. Karter Vanderheyden was in the mix too, providing the Wolves with two scores.

Parke Heritage was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 332 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Parke Heritage pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.0 points over those games. As for North Vermillion, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Parke Heritage will take on Riverton Parke at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for North Vermillion, they will face off against Fountain Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
