Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Plymouth Christian Academy's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Salem, Plymouth Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Novi Wildcats 2-1. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Clara Groen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mariah Wright, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Plymouth Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Novi, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
