Softball Recap: Broadneck Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Broadneck put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Southern Bulldogs as they made off with a 17-0 victory. Considering the Bruins have won seven contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Addie Cornelius, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Elena Durkin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Broadneck's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Southern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Broadneck will face off against rival Meade at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Southern is set to challenge their familiar foe Northeast at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
