Roman Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Springfield 48-20. With the Cahillite ahead 35-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Semaj Beals produced another solid performance throwing for 270 yards and five TDs while completing 80% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in October. Ash Roberts was another key player, picking up 115 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Roman Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Justus Gaskin, Haamir Lowry, and Eyan Stead picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Bishop McDevitt faced Peters Township in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Indians 31-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Crusaders have posted since December 6, 2024.
Bishop McDevitt's win came from a few key players Roman Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nazir Jones-Davis, who rushed for 118 yards and one score. Ishmael Palmer also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Bishop McDevitt, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Palmer, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bishop McDevitt's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Creighton Miltsch, Zach Brown, and Jack Dawson, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Roman Catholic's record now sits at 11-3. As for Bishop McDevitt, their record is now 12-2.
