Basketball Recap: Cypress Park Comes Up Short

Cypress Park lost against Cypress Springs back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cypress Park Tigers were dealt an 82-12 loss at the hands of the Cypress Springs Panthers. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Leading Cypress Springs to victory were Ayla Mcdowell and Jemini Mitchell. Mcdowell almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards, while Mitchell went 12 for 17 en route to 31 points. Mcdowell has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 16 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tamiah Harrison, who posted eight points and nine steals.

Cypress Park dropped their record down to 6-21 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Cypress Springs, the win (which was their 21st in a row) raised their record to 25-3.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Cypress Park Tigers duke it out with the Cypress Woods Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cypress Park is facing Cypress Woods at the right time seeing as Cypress Woods is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cypress Springs, they will face off against Waller at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cypress Springs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.9 points per game this season.
