Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask El Capitan). They claimed a resounding 101-18 win over the Shonto Prep Grizzlies. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 26 points or more this season.

El Capitan's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jairus Hammon, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 16 points along with five assists and three steals. Hammon's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Hammon, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

El Capitan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 offensive rebounds per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 12.5.

El Capitan has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.6 points per game. As for Shonto Prep, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Capitan will challenge Greyhills Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Shonto Prep, they will face off against Fredonia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
