Baseball Recap: Teurlings Catholic Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Teurlings Catholic). They never let the Westgate Tigers get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Rebels sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Dylan Helms looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Evan Vincent was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Will Power, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Teurlings Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .737. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Teurlings Catholic's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Westgate, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Teurlings Catholic will take on Comeaux at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westgate, they will be playing at home against West St. Mary at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
