Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Emery Jones and Aubrey Kimball Lead Cornerstone Charter to Victory

The Cornerstone Charter Cardinals earned a 3-1 victory over the McMichael Phoenix on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Cornerstone Charter was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 17-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Cornerstone Charter was led to victory by Aubrey Kimball and Emery Jones. Kimball had 15 digs and three assists, while Jones had seven digs and five aces. That's the most aces Jones has posted since back in October of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: Cornerstone Charter was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 12 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Cornerstone Charter's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Cornerstone Charter will take on Westminster Catawba Christian in a tournament on Friday. As for McMichael, they will be taking part in a tournament against Carson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
