Basketball Recap: Genoa-Hugo/Karval Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Genoa-Hugo/Karval was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles and fell 69-39. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 54-19 to the Eagles when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval's loss came despite strong showings from Ryker Lockhart and Cash Carlson. Lockhart posted 11 points and six boards, while Carlson scored 12 points and three steals. Carlson is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Clint Hale also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genoa-Hugo/Karval will be home for the holidays to greet Flagler at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Pirates' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they will welcome Flatirons Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
