Baseball Recap: Highland Triumphs

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Highland and Roosevelt meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Hornets came out on top against the Rough Riders by a score of 6-3. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 10-3 victory on Tuesday.

Luke McCool looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Casey Myser was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Kyle Williams also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Highland's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Coming up, Highland will challenge Cuyahoga Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Roosevelt, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ravenna at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
