Softball Recap: Sam Rayburn Comes Up Short

If Sam Rayburn was feeling good fresh off their 21-1 takedown of South Houston last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Texans came up short against the Alvin Yellowjackets on Tuesday, falling 16-1. The loss continues a trend for the Texans in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost six in a row.

Sam Rayburn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aleah Garza, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Sam Rayburn's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Alvin, they pushed their record up to 13-8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Sam Rayburn and Alvin will both be playing Manvel the next time they take the field. The Texans will host the Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Yellowjackets will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
