Volleyball Recap: Lincoln County Panthers vs. Wayne Pioneers
Lincoln County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wayne Pioneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.
Lincoln County wouldn't go down easily and took Wayne into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 21-25, 23-25, 15-12.
Bella Dingess paced Lincoln County's offense, picking up 13 kills. Dingess got some help from Jillian Starcher and her 20 assists. Abby Roy controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Lincoln County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20-1. As for Wayne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-19-1.
Coming up, Lincoln County will head out on the road to square off against Riverside at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wayne, they will face off against Huntington at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
