Football Recap: Victory Baptist Comes Up Short

The Victory Baptist Warrior lost 54-34 to the St. Francis Knights on Friday. The Warrior have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Eli Pawlish, who rushed for 196 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 120 receiving yards and one score for St. Francis. Pawlish's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 144 rushing yards. Steve Snyder was another key player, rushing for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries.

Victory Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for St. Francis, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Victory Baptist will head out on the road to face off against Fideles Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warrior will be up against the Rangers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. Francis, they will host Young Americans Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
