Basketball Recap: Rusk Takes a Loss

Rusk was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt an 86-52 loss at the hands of the Center Roughriders. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-23.

Center got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jimmarion (JA) Smith out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Travis (TJ) Belin Jr, who went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points along with seven boards and six assists.

Rusk's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Center, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rusk will take on Hudson at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Center, they will square off against Palestine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
