Football Recap: Fife Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Fife extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were beaten by the Orting Cardinals 42-13. The Trojans lost against the Cardinals in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 20-19 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Fife lost, don't look at Mattson Ducharme. Despite the final result, he threw for 209 yards and one TD.

As for Orting, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points over those games.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Israel Shrode and Shiron Seniours. Shrode gained 175 total yards and a touchdown while Seniours gained 131 total yards and three touchdowns. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 85 yards. Carson McCall was in the mix too, providing Orting with two touchdowns.

Fife has already played their next contest, a 42-0 win against Washington on the 25th. As for Orting, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 43-42 victory against Franklin Pierce on the 26th.
