Southwood has gone a perfect 7-0 against Southern Wells recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Knights will square off against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Southwood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Southwood had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Northfield on Wednesday. The Knights blew past the Norsemen 10-1. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Norsemen: they've now won nine in a row.

Southwood got a massive performance out of Izzy Ashba, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. What's more, Ashba posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gracie Lambert, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Southwood lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Southern Wells lost 13-1 to Woodlan on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost eight in a row.

Southern Wells saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyah Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Southwood's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Southern Wells, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.

Southwood took their win against Southern Wells in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
