Aniak suffers fifth straight loss at home

Recap: Aniak Halfbreeds vs. Non Varsity Opponent
The Aniak Halfbreeds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to Non Varsity Opponent at home by a decisive 43-26 margin. If Aniak hoped to take revenge for the 37-16 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the defeat, Aniak saw an underclassman step up: Sierra Lang scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Maddison Steeves, who scored five points.
Aniak bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Non Varsity Opponent, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 85-137.
Aniak will face off against Tuluksak at TBD on Friday. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they will square off against Effingham at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
