Randolph-Macon Academy has been on the road for seven straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Wakefield School Fighting Owls at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Randolph-Macon Academy: 26.4, Wakefield School: 14.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
In what's become a running theme this season, Randolph-Macon Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 51-12 victory over Quantico on the road.
Randolph-Macon Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kay Perry out in front who scored 21 points. Perry is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Berkley Bennett was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of 13 wins, Wakefield School's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Immanuel Christian by a score of 24-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wakefield School has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Wakefield School had strong showings from Aya Mason, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals, and Ceci Turner, who scored three points along with seven steals and five assists. Mason is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Randolph-Macon Academy now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Wakefield School, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-1.
Randolph-Macon Academy couldn't quite finish off Wakefield School in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 37-35.
