Football Recap: West Harrison Falls Short Against Ranked D'iberville

West Harrison faced D'Iberville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Hurricanes took a hard 25-7 fall against the Warriors. The Hurricanes haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

De'Mario Davies threw for 108 yards on ten of 20 attempts. Tyler Gazzier was his top target, picking up 77 receiving yards. On the ground, Sean Fairley rushed for 58 yards and one score.

D'Iberville was led to victory by Jordan Walley and Chan Harvey. Walley rushed for 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Harvey rushed for 107 yards and one TD. Those 70 rushing yards gave Walley a new career-high. Malakai Knight did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Harrison fell to 5-1. As for D'Iberville, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

West Harrison wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 18-0 win against Harrison Central on the 9th. As for D'Iberville, they have also already played their next contest, a 42-21 loss against Ocean Springs on the 10th.
