Kell beats Greater Atlanta Christian for their seventh straight win

Recap: Kell Longhorns vs. Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans

The Kell Longhorns had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They came out on top against Greater Atlanta Christian by a score of 42-32. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Bryce Clavon was on fire: he rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes. Clavon's longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. Another player making a difference was Kyle Vaka, who picked up 154 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Kell's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Elijah Washington and Tyshawn Natt who racked up five sacks between them.

When it comes to explaining why Greater Atlanta Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gianlucca "gl" Tiberia. Despite the final result, he rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Tiberia is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Jack Stanton was another key contributor, throwing for 238 yards and two touchdowns.

Kell's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-1.

Kell will head out on the road to face off against North Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Kell is ranked 48th). As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Chattahoochee at 7:30 p.m.
