Recap: Adair Warriors vs. Vinita Hornets
The Adair Warriors had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Everything went their way against Vinita as Adair made off with a 34-14 win. The result was nothing new for Adair, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Cale Winfrey got back to being his usual excellent self, as he threw for 187 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Wilson, who picked up 140 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Adair's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Vinita, they have fallen quite a ways from their 8-3 record last season and are now at 3-5.
Adair will head out on the road to face off against Pawhuska at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pawhuska is on a three-game streak of home wins, Adair a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Vinita will take on Sequoyah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sequoyah's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
