Volleyball Recap: Kaylee Garner Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Sunnydale Academy

There's no place like home for Christian Fellowship, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Sunnydale Academy on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for Christian Fellowship, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Christian Fellowship never let Sunnydale Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 26-24, 25-8.

Christian Fellowship got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaylee Garner out in front who had 16 digs and three aces. Garner is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrey North, who had 20 assists and eight digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Christian Fellowship was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matches.

Christian Fellowship's record now sits at 7-11. As for Sunnydale Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Christian Fellowship didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Liberty Christian Academy on the 17th. Sunnydale Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
