Soccer Game Preview: Porter Ridge vs. Marvin Ridge

Porter Ridge is 0-7-1 against Marvin Ridge since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Pirates will look to defend their home pitch against the Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Porter Ridge fell victim to Sun Valley and their airtight defense last Thursday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Marvin Ridge faced Weddington in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Thursday. Neither the Mavericks nor the Warriors could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result kept Marvin Ridge happy, as they haven't lost a game since March 11th.

Their goal came courtesy of Jessica Mattson, who's now up to five this season.

Marvin Ridge's draw gives them a new season record of 8-1-6. As for Porter Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-4.
