Preview: Kern Valley Broncs vs. Mammoth Huskies
Kern Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Mammoth Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Kern Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Tuesday.
Kern Valley struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (California City had 18 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Kern Valley fell 54-41 to California City.
The losing side was boosted by ED Bunting, who scored eight points.
Mammoth suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Rosamond on the road and fell 82-48. Mammoth was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-16.
Kern Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Mammoth, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Kern Valley skirted past Mammoth 50-47 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kern Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
