Basketball Game Preview: Harding Raiders vs. Hoover Vikings

The Harding Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Hoover Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Harding didn't have too much trouble with Garfield Community Learning Center as they won 39-20. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Golden Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Hoover posted their biggest victory since November 25, 2024 last Saturday. They blew past Buchtel 61-19. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Griffins are ranked 586th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hoover has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Harding, their win bumped their record up to an identical 13-9.

Harding was taken down by Hoover 54-25 when the teams last played back in December of 2015. Can Harding avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
