Football Recap: Goleman Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Goleman can now relate to. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (13-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gladiators apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Goleman didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Melina Pickard and Stephanie Fernandez.

Isabelle Castrillo was the offensive standout of the match as she rushed for 46 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 138 yards and one TD. She also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making three total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes.

Goleman's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Hialeah Gardens, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Goleman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hialeah Gardens, they have already played their next contest, a 14-0 victory against Doral Academy on the 16th.
