Baseball Recap: Parkland Drops Season-High Score on Louis E. Dieruff

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parkland). They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Louis E. Dieruff Huskies on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won seven in a row.

Louis E. Dieruff's batters probably weren't too happy with Dempsey Lawson, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up a single walk).

At the plate, Parkland got a massive performance out of Ben Weninger, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Weninger a new career-high. Brady Derr was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Parkland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Parkland's record is now 10-2. As for Louis E. Dieruff, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkland will venture away from home to square off against William Allen at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Canaries have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.57 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Louis E. Dieruff, they will head out on the road to face off against Whitehall at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
