Recap: Fresno Christian Eagles vs. Orcutt Academy Spartans
The Fresno Christian Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 42-24 win over Orcutt Academy. That's another feather in the cap for Fresno Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Fresno Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Stotts, who threw for 221 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Stotts is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last nine games he's played. Joshua Kubota was another key contributor, picking up 147 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Fresno Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Angel DeLeon and his three sacks.
Fresno Christian's win was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 11-2 Sierra and 11-2 Sierra (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.4% over those games). As for Orcutt Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Fresno Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Orcutt Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
